Items We May Forget to Clean During COVID-19

We have put together some useful blogs on how to help keep your house clean during the coronavirus pandemic, but there are some items that we use daily and don’t think to wipe down when cleaning. Multiple people touching these items could lead to the spread of germs, and they may get neglected from the cleaning routine.

Light Switches

Think about it- anytime someone goes in or out of a room, they generally will use the light switch. Now the next person who enters the room and touches the light switch will have come in contact with another person’s germs. During this time, it’s important to ensure we are being extra vigilant whenever guests are in our home, so wiping down the light switches may be a good idea.

Car Keys

We use our car keys pretty frequently, and it is one of the first things we touch after being out and about, such as in a grocery store, a doctor’s office, work, or other destination. We recommend wiping down your keys daily to avoid the spread of germs that you may have picked up while out.

Cellphone

Just like our car keys, our cell phones are constantly in our hands after being in our pocket. Maybe you were grocery shopping and got an important phone call you had to take while in the store. Anything you’ve touched in the store could have germs on it and now those germs have been transferred to your phone. We recommend a plastic case for your cell phone that can be wiped down daily with Lysol wipes.

Purses/Wallets

Purses and Wallets are taken with us on any outings, and we reach inside of them to pay at the registers, potentially transferring any germs that were on our hands to them. A thorough wipe down of your purse/wallet after any outing can help keep your purse/wallet sanitized.
