1. Inside the Toaster

Because crumbs in the toaster are hidden from view, it’s easy to forget to clean the toaster out frequently. Over time  the crumbs that accumulate can reduce its performance and attract pests. If there is a built in crumb tray in your toaster, empty it. If there isn’t, simply unplug the toaster and shake it upside down over the trash. You may need to use a brush to dislodge any pieces that won’t come out.

2. Behind and Under the Fridge

Oftentimes, food and dirt that is on the floor can get accidentally pushed or swept under the fridge. Small beverage spills near the fridge could leak under. Occasionally, it’s not a bad idea to slide the fridge out of place and sweep and mop underneath. Debris, food crumbs, and sticky beverages can attract unwanted bugs into your home.

3. Around the Stove

While the stove top is always a point of focus after use, the floor around it isn’t always remembered. While cooking, you may drop food or liquids on the ground. This can attract pests and also cause your floor to be sticky. We recommend a quick nightly sweep/clean in this area.

4. Inside the Microwave

Inside your microwave can definitely get gross, including the ceiling, the sides, and the plate. Clean it easily by filling a bowl with water and lemon juice, put it in the microwave, and run it on high for about two minutes. The steam that is created by the water will soften any gunk, making it much easier for cleaning.
