Tips for Preparing Your Yard for the Fourth of July

4th of July weekend is right around the corner, and Summer is here! Summer means barbecues, bonfires, and outside gatherings. If you’re planning on hosting any events, we’ve got some tips to make sure you’re prepared for that first gathering.

1. Inspect It

Whether it’s been sitting under a cover or in the garage, you want to inspect all the pieces of the furniture and the pillows. Evaluate the condition of the furniture and pillows, make repairs when needed or buy new.  Not only your outdoor furniture should be looked at, but any outdoor structures. Winter can cause structures to become weak.

2. Clean It

Be sure to wipe down any outdoor tables and chairs with disinfectant. It’s very important to ensure your guests will be eating food in a sanitary condition.

3. Be Prepared

Make sure you have seating for all of your guests. Ensure that there is not only ample seating, but comfortable seating. You want to make sure people are comfortable so they stay and have an awesome time!  Although days are longer in the summer, they go by quick and good times often last into the night. Ample lighting is key to keeping the good times rolling.

4. Flower Power

Flowers are a simple and quick way to liven up your outdoor space. Small flowers are an easy option to brighten up the table. Planters can add a splash of color to any entryway.

5. Have multiple trash cans

Try to have at least two trash cans floating around your yard, easily accessible and noticeable by your guests. This way, you don’t have to worry about plastic cups or empty plates laying around, your guests will be more likely to clean up after themselves if they know where the trash is.
